Shard London Bridge from Renzo Piano was initially hoped to be Europe’s tallest tower. It was said that after 2001 terrorist attacks, the design was reconsidered and made smaller with more fire-escape routes. The genius of the design is where he thought of the surface to be glazed and with different angled panes that would reflect the weather and sky changes, adjusting to the climate around it with different colors. I remember hearing building in Kuwait under construction will have some color changing. Now I know where they got their inspiration from.
Legal and other issues have been keeping this project from even starting. According to Wikipedia, only Nov 2007 saw a Qatari company winning the contract to build the project for fixed 350m euros.
Even though you cannot yet see this building, there are many other reasons why you may want to visit London. If you are planning to do so, we advise you to check and compare the hotel rates here before you make your booking.
