Try the Cable Car in Singapore
While it may not be a final destination for many, it is a hot staying spot for people traveling from and to places like Australia. If Singapore is a stop for you, you may want to give it a couple of days or so, and see what beauty it has to offer. One of the attractions they say you shouldn’t miss there is the Cable Car between Mt. Faber and Santosa.
The news around it is that these cable cars will be put to retirement later this year, as Mount Faber Leisure Group is planning to replace it with 68 new cable cars only to be known as Jewel rides, one of which will be made for VIP from Austrian Swarovski crystals, and will be equipped with a DVD player, fridge, and a high-end Bose system. Total cost estimate of the project is $36 millions, with a target customer attraction of 1.7 million riders.

One Million Hotel Rooms on Sale in New Zealand and the Pacific Region

For the dates 24, 25, and 26 of February, participating Accor Asia Pacific hotels are making available one million hotel rooms at very special rates for bookings on dates from 1st April – 31st July. The discounted rate is a pretty smart idea to guarantee early reservations for the upcoming summer season during the economy crisis. An open period would make people hesitate, as opposed to this limited time offer. It’s too early for many I guess however to decide on a short notice.
Countries that will have discounted offers are Australia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. Get your special rate from the Super Sale page.

Despite the Olympics, China tourism down by 2 millions!

Despite hosting the biggest sporting event on the planet, tourism and inbound China travelers dropped down last year by 2 million to 130 million (only). For a country that much over populated, I never even thought it would had such heavy tourism, but the numbes the China National Tourism Administration announced on their website marks the first decline in numbers since 2003!
The decline is related mostly to the Olympics-related security measures, and the global economy crisis. I would personally think many have also avoided the city as it will be overcrowded and prices during this Olympics period.

Inside the forests of the Northern part of Cambodia, resides the historical Khmer Empire buildings from the 9th-15th century, that inclues the Angkor Wat temple, and the Bayon temple.

Angkor Archaeological Park covers 400 sq km, and was declared back in 1992 as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is als considered in danger as well that UNESCO is safeguarding it these days. Because of the lack of accommodations and facilities there, the Siem Reap town is tourist’s target gathering point to visit those historical places.

Citadel Hotel Kandy – Sri Lanka

The magnificent location and view of the 3 star hotel on the shimmering Mahaweli River is not why I have picked this hotel today. It’s an email I received sometime back that this restaurant seems to serve a $14,500 dessert shown below.

The reason for the price comes from the fact that there is a real diamond with the cake, and you get to keep it ofcourse. So technically, the cake it self is not expensive. The dish is

Hotel Sofitel Tokyo
Hotel Sofitel Tokyo is a 5 star hotel, unique in it’s architectural design that was inspired from traditional Japan templates and the Tree of Life. I have tried to gather information about the rates, but alas, couldn’t. No price on the fly. The hotel is quipped with 83 rooms, high-tech bedrooms, but nothing unique about the services offered. But take a look for detailed information and more beautiful pictures here.
