Capital Gate Abu Dhabi down plays the Pisa

(via People Daily)
The new (inclining) hotel in Abu Dhabi, Capital Gate, has entered the Guinness Book of Records being the world’s most inclined tower with a height of 160 meters that leans westward at 18 degrees, 14 degrees more than the 4 only Pisa in Italy. Ofcourse the beauty of the Pisa remains in it’s original uninteded incline, but this will definitely turn heads to UAE once more now. The project is expected to complete by end 2010.

Makkah Clock Royal Tower
World’s largest clock tower, which is also a hotel, is going to be built and launched in the Islamic holy city of Makkah. 43 meters in diameter, compared to the 7 meters London Big Ben clock, and rising 577 meters above the ground, making it only second tallest building in the world.
The clock as announced holds extreme amount of engineering and challenges that is worth being admired. reports say this project will open in mid 2010, but I can’t tell for sure yet.

World’s Smallest Hotel Coming in London

Forget fancy large hotels with hundreds of visitors, the Visit London says. This is a chance to live in the world’s tiniest hotel ever, only 29ft by 7ft airstream caravan that moves between famous London landmarks. The hotel providers a dedicated concierge service, check-in desk, room service, flat screen TV, and a double bed.
While it’s nice to wake up in a new place every morning, I’m not sure if I’d be comfortable with a moving bed, especially when you’re fighting sleep-disorder. But it is an experience anyways that is opening this month. click here for more details.

Short & Sweet: Atlantis The Palm Hotel is one of the brand new and most luxurious hotels in Dubai, built over the sea, opened in September 2008 in a ceremony that cost, despite of the crisis, $16M, with total of 100,000 fireworks, around seven times that of Beijing 2008 opening. I’m not sure whether it’s wise to thank the crisis, but a night for two in such a luxurious hotel can be reached for approximately $400 in this January. Not bad at all. And you’ll get to try out the leap of faith water slide, rising along 200 ft at an incline of 84 degrees.

Googleplex View Hotel
TRIPHOW is reporting about a new 225-room hotel to be built right next to the Google Inc.’s headquarters at Shoreline District in Mountain View, CA. This means that you can get a room with a view on the Googleplex (Google complex) and watch Google employees drift in and out of the company, instead of a river view.
While I doubt it, it would be lovely if the hotel can in arrangement with Google have the Googleplex theme inside it. Same lava lamps, bouncy balls, corridor design and all. And hey, how about occasional lunches from Google chefs themselves
. That would be awesome.
