Capital Gate Abu Dhabi Hotel

The new (inclining) hotel in Abu Dhabi, Capital Gate, has entered the Guinness Book of Records being the world’s most inclined tower with a height of 160 meters that leans westward at 18 degrees, 14 degrees more than the 4 only Pisa in Italy. Ofcourse the beauty of the Pisa remains in it’s original uninteded incline, but this will definitely turn heads to UAE once more now. The project is expected to complete by end 2010.

April 8, 2010 · Filed Under Articles, Attractions, buildings, middle-east, News · 3 Comments

Tallest man-built construction in the world, Burj Khalifa, has not yet celebrated it’s first birthday, and haven’t even yet recovered from the public observation deck shutdown, and Jeddah is already expecting bids on it’s 1 KM tallest Kingdom Tower in the world project on April 14th. When completed, this will be more than 400 m taller than the Makkah Clock Tower opening this August, and over 150 m taller than the tallest Burj Khalifa building.

It’s the war of skyscrapers, and it’s costing a fortune.

Makkah Clock Royal Tower

March 25, 2010 · Filed Under Attractions, buildings, destinations, Hotels, middle-east, News, video · 1 Comment

World’s largest clock tower, which is also a hotel, is going to be built and launched in the Islamic holy city of Makkah. 43 meters in diameter, compared to the 7 meters London Big Ben clock, and rising 577 meters above the ground, making it only second tallest building in the world.

The clock as announced holds extreme amount of engineering and challenges that is worth being admired. reports say this project will open in mid 2010, but I can’t tell for sure yet.

The Dynamic Tower

dubai dynamic tower

Imagine an 80-floor tower that changes shape… Constantly, rotating, every second. Not the whole building, but each and every floor of it, on it’s own, rotating in it’s own direction, as desired. How much energy would such a building require, if it is possible that is. What would you say if Mr. David Fisher, it’s designer, is going to have the building powers it self? By placing giant wind turbines between the floors, in addition to the solar panel powers, the building will not only have enough energy for it self, but it’s going to power the buildings around it as well! And if all of this seems like a mission impossible to accomplish, the team behind it have made the design even easier than ever for construction, allowing for first time offices to be completely built in the factory, and then attached to the building, decreasing construction time, hazard, cost, and workers on-site.

Watch all of this and more in the video below.
